212 new flats are about to be built on an area of approx. 24,000 square metres within view of the Aaper Wald. Distributed across 23 apartment buildings, family-friendly units of easy-to-handle sizes with up to six floors will be constructed. The ‘Arcadia Höfe’ will be ready for their tenants by the summer of 2021. The residential quarter with its three-section day care centre and biotope has been developed as a contemporary residential concept. Plans for a dedicated shopping quarter are underway. The entire quarter is designed as a low-traffic zone. 20% of the flats will be subject to public subsidies. 20% will be offered on the market at capped prices. This is a central contribution to the residential action concept (Handlungskonzept Wohnen; HKW) of the city of Düsseldorf in order to meet the rising demand of affordable residential space. Construction has already commenced. The underground parking garage is close to completion.
